This freewayguide sign in Santa Monica, California indicates that Interstate 10 has been officially designated the "Christopher Columbus Transcontinental Highway" by the California state government. No other such signs seem to exist anywhere on Interstate 10 between Santa Monica and Jacksonville, Florida.
Photographed on April 1, 2006 by user User:Coolcaesar and again photographed by the same user on August 1, 2015 to show that the old sign fashioned in traditional "button copy" has been replaced by Caltrans with a modern retroreflective painted sign.
