English: Camphor workers had to face the difficult mountainous environment, harsh weather conditions, mosquitos and possible diseases. In early times, they even had to risk their lives contending against indigenes. They were like forest nomads in search of the camphor forest. They stayed at an area until they logged off the entire camphor forest. Once the camphor-making process was completed, they had to tear down the hut and moved elsewhere to continue their work. |
