佩列佩爾金隕擊坑(Perepelkin)是火星阿耳卡狄亞區的一座撞擊坑,其中心坐標位於北緯52.8度、西經64.6度處,直徑77公里。該特徵取名自前蘇聯天文學家葉夫根尼·雅科夫列維奇·佩列佩爾金(1906年-1940年),1973年被國際天文聯合會行星系統命名工作組批准接受[1]。
描述
[編輯]該隕坑大部分地區都蒙覆着一層覆蓋物,據信這層覆蓋物是不同氣候時期從大氣中飄落的含冰塵埃,在下面的圖片中可看到覆蓋層。此外,在覆蓋層消失的某些地方,可看到河道。
覆蓋層
[編輯]研究人員注意到火星大部分區域都鋪覆着一層平整的覆蓋層[2]。有些被侵蝕地區會露出下方粗糙的表面,而另一些地區則有多層覆蓋層。人們普遍認為,覆蓋層是富冰塵埃,為不同氣候條件下從上空降落的覆冰塵埃顆粒[3]。其富冰性質的證據是存在一些冰融化時僅數小時水流沖刷所形成溝壑[4][5][6][7]。在高緯度地區,如米蘭科維奇撞擊坑周圍,覆蓋層較厚,可能含有圓形的扇貝狀地形[8],它們被認為是由覆蓋層中的冰升華所引起,現已經提出了數種模型來解釋它們,有些情況下會有少量融化[9][10][11][12]。
