嵌頓性包莖是指陰莖的包皮向後拉後卡在龜頭後方，無法拉回至龜頭頂端[3]。如果這種情況持續數小時或使得陰莖出現血流不暢的跡象，則可能導致壞疽[4][5][6]。
原因
[編輯]嵌頓性包莖是由於包皮被拉回陰莖頂端時陰莖產生腫脹而引起。通常在醫療疏失（在陰莖檢查、陰莖清洗、尿道導尿或膀胱鏡檢查時，包皮可能會被翻開）或家長處理包皮不當時會出現嵌頓性包莖[3][6][5]。

If a severely constricting band of tissue precludes all forms of conservative or minimally invasive therapy, an emergency dorsal slit should be performed. A formal circumcision can be performed in the operating room at a later date... At a later date, a formal circumcision can be performed as an outpatient procedure.
